Talk about your slow starts....

I knew it'd been awhile since I'd posted an update to my blog. But 4 months?!?

Seriously? I can make excuses about how busy I've been at work, learning how to be a dad and trying to keep all the pets fed, but that's just a horrible to start. Oh well, I guess the kid comes first. As you can see, I'm on top of the dad thing and I'm preparing him to be self sufficient. If you can get your own meat you can always make your own way. Right?

Well, if nothing else this blog has some room for improvement.

More frequent postings to come....

Sleep? Never heard of it

Okay, so it's been a week since my last post....way longer than I wanted. I think I've figured out one reason why people say that a kid is so life changing. Everyone always joked..."sleep, that'll be a distant memory" or "sleep...you won't get that for the next 18 years." And I thought they were joking. Ooops.

Seriously, we are getting up every 2 hours (or, according to his appetite lately every 1.5 hours) to feed Connor. Supposedly we will be able to get him on a more normal schedule in the next few months...so they say. Let's hope so! I go back to work next week, so my 11am - 3 am days will need to change. Regardless, these 2 weeks with him have flown by and I am really going to miss it. As my schedule gets a little more "normal", postings will pick up a bit....not that anyone really cares. It's cool, I know all you want is pics of the kid, so I'll keep those coming.

PS. Don't forget to check out the new Connor pics in the slide show.

A new addition to our family

My wife Amberly and I had our first child a few days ago, Connor Reed Donnelly. The first few days have been blissfully exhausting. The time we are getting to bond with him is something that Amberly and I will always cherish and will fly by too quickly. Connor joins the rest of the family that previously consisted of 3 dogs and about 35 koi. We love our animals but our new "little monkey" (note:nickname is subject to change) is definitely the best addition. He immediately joins the list of my favorite things which also include my wife, camping, photography, football, cooking & eating my cooking, and beer.

Dipping my toes in the water....

Okay, so I am going to give this whole blogging thing a shot. My 5 day old son already has one, so I figure I better get with the times. (His blog is at http://www.connorreeddonnelly.blogspot.com/) From me, expect a lot of pictures and random thoughts. You should probably also be prepared for lots of hot sports opinions, a little political and music commentary, scenes from the family life, and way too many shots of random nature scenes. Sorry, sometimes I just can't control myself. Stay tuned as I take time between 2 hour baby feeding shifts to share a little bit with all of you....
